About RCPApps.org

RCPApps provides a comprehensive set of information regarding the development of Eclipse Rich Client Applications. As well as providing links to other sites, a number of articles are available that describe some of the issues with creating your first Eclipse plugin through to bundling a Rich Client Application. Additionally, you can download and use the applications provided as examples of how to build these applications in the future.

Suggestions for new articles, products or features should be directed to the developer mailing list.

The goal of the products (RCP News, RCP Mail and others) is to build functionality as an Eclipse Rich Client Platform. In doing this, the functionality will be built as a number of plugins and features. These will be designed to operate in a standalone Eclipse development environment, or any other product based on the Eclipse framework with the necessary pre-requisites. These will be built against Eclipse 3.1, but should work under Eclipse 3.0 as well. Eclipse 2.1 and previous versions will not be supported; in part, because the SWT engine that is part of Eclipse 2.1 does not provide a web-browser, which is a key part of these applications.

All of the applications, code, and articles provided on this site are provided under the Eclipse Public License. You may freely use the examples in your own applications.
